Photograph of the town of Accompong in Jamaica. The image shows a cluster of thatched houses scattered on a hillside.Accompong is a historical Maroon village, located in the hills of St. Elizabeth Parish in Jamaica. The Jamaican Maroons are descended from runaway slaves who fought the British during the 18th century. Accompong town became a mission station of the church of Scotland with a church and a school.
