The paper used to create the book was handmade by C & C Press. The cover wrap is printed relief from a C & C Press equipment shelf on the Vandercook SP20 Proofing Press"--Prospectus.Double sheets glued at the fore-edge to create accordion-style pages. Paper wrapper holds each end with no adhesives. The photographic images have been printed so that the backgrounds are b&w and the human figures are in color. Title printed on the same paper used for the book wrapper and inset into top of black, cloth-covered box. Both the box and the book wrapper have the title printed in the same typeface used for the 1972 Ed Ruscha book of the same title. Housed in publisher supplied custom-made drop-spine box (34 x 26 x 6 cm.)."Colored People was initiated by Matt Cohen and Sher Zabaszkiewicz of C & C Press, in California, and consists of photographs taken by Blake J. Nolan in Cameroon in 2005. Nolan’s Cameroonian photographs immediately struck Cohen and Zabaszkiewicz as a worthy sequel to two other well-known artists’ books with that fraught title.
