Description
Descriptions of the Mormon “refugees.” The Mormons continue to show a determined hostility to federal officers, excepting Governor Cumming, who has a close affiliation with the Mormon leaders. Admission of Utah as a state of the Union will unquestionably be the next goal of the Mormon leaders. The Peace Commissioners have returned to Washington, with no official peace treaty yet made. Various Mormon outrages, including polygamy and the existence of the Danites.
