Description

Descriptions of the Mormon “refugees.” The Mormons continue to show a determined hostility to federal officers, excepting Governor Cumming, who has a close affiliation with the Mormon leaders. Admission of Utah as a state of the Union will unquestionably be the next goal of the Mormon leaders. The Peace Commissioners have returned to Washington, with no official peace treaty yet made.
