Allen, Annie

Description

Holograph, signed.Annie Allen thanks Maria Weston Chapman for a copy of the Liberty Bell. She writes that many of the Irish are not interested in the anti-slavery cause, and those that are, disapprove of the old organization. She will act on the suggestions as to what will sell best at the anti-slavery fair. She consigns unsaleable articles to "a corner behind the sofa called by me Botany Bay." "Have you got a stray leaf with Channing's signature to it." Annie asks if Henry W. Longfellow is an abolitionist.
