Costume worn by actress Halle Berry in the title role for the 2004 film Catwoman. The outfit was designed by Angus Strathie.The character of Catwoman was first introduced in the pages of Batman comics in 1940. With origins as a villain, Catwoman has been a staple in the DC Comics universe, including headlining her own comic series.The 2004 film retells the Catwoman story as a stand alone feature. It won four Golden Raspberry Awards, given to the worst films of the year.Previously, Halle Berry became the first African American woman to win an Academy Award for best actress, taking home the Oscar for her role in 2002's Monster's Ball.Currently not on view
