The Institute, held August 9th through the 21st, focused on the culture of Black America, commonly referred to as the Harlem Renaissance. In this recording, Naomi Madgett, Associate Professor of English at Eastern Michigan University speaks on the Harlem Renaissance and its effects on her poetry.
