This folder contains materials created/collected by the National YMCA as part of their interracial work. This folder specifically contains reports, conference materials, newsletters, and other records of the National Conference of Black and Non-White YMCA Laymen and Staff (BAN-WYS) includes lists of members, descriptions of the group's activities and goals, and accounts of incidents of both racial discrimination and progress. Much of the material from 1976 through 1978 focuses on the planning and celebration of the 125th anniversary of YMCA service to African Americans and includes records of the National Task Force on the YMCA in Black Communities.
