Carrie Weddle

Description

At a young age, Carrie Weddle knew what her life’s calling would be and where she needed to go to obtain this goal. Due to her parent’s insistence, Weddle decided on a career in nursing. In 1960, segregation forced her to leave her home of Mississippi and migrate north to Milwaukee to obtain her college degree. Near thirty years later and in a supervisory management role in nursing, Weddle was not content with her one degree and decided to obtain further education. She went on to receive her Master’s in Nursing in 1990, and her PhD in Nursing in 1996. Weddle cherishes her time spent in college and the relationships and friends she maintains to this day that she met through her experiences at the university. She now devotes her time to her family, friends, and volunteer work with local schools.
