Holograph, signedThe School Committee of New Bedford has given John F. Emerson the mastership of the school about to be established in the town. Deborah Weston will therefore consider herself released from her engagement to return for another quarter, if needed. Emerson says: "The girls will be greatly disappointed." Miss Baylies has the Female Department of the public school. During vacation, John F. Emerson's schoolhouse was broken into and every locked desk forced open, including Deborah Weston's desk, and some of her drawings were probably stolen
