Description

The documents in this folder, most of which relate to the March 1965 Freedom School Workshop held in Knoxville, Tennessee, show Lucile Montgomery's active role in planning the event and arranging for speakers and activities. In addition to arranging and participating in the event, she showed and discussed slides of African art there, the list and her notes for which are here. Evaluations of, list of attendees, and registration cards from attendees at the Freedom School Workshop are included, as well as lists of supplies needed by freedom schools, and brainstorming notes for possible Freedom School Workshop topics and speakers.
