Description

Cecelia Foxley describes her childhood, early family life, and experiences as a young girl in Centerville, Utah. She recalls her experience as the National College Queen as a student at Utah State University, her courtship with her first husband, their brief marriage, and his tragic death from a car accident. She then details her experiences in pursuing a Ph.D., gaining employment as a professor at the University of Minnesota, becoming the first Director of the Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employment program at the University of Iowa, and moving back to Utah State for an administrative position. She also relates her family life with her second husband and children, as well as experiences she now has as a grandmother. Finally, she describes her work as Utah’s first female commissioner of the Utah System of Higher Education.
