Six WAAC female officers sworn into the Women's Army Corps (WAC) by Captain E. D. Keith (post adjutant) with post commander, Colonel Welton M. Modisette, at Camp Atterbury, Indiana during World War II (No. 188 C). The six officers (from left to right) are Captain Elizabeth A Wilbern and Lieutenants Mary L. Porter, Mildred Peterson, Sarah E. Murphy, Jeanne G. Childs, and Camille F. Thomas ("Camp Crier" newspaper, September 3, 1943, p. 2).
