Grace, Frank

Description

Slow in returning Grace's letter due to his depression. Would like his wife (Lynette) to meet Gloria although Lynette claims not to like anyone from New Bedford. Is in the A section of prison ("I'm a good slave") and is attending school, working as a counselor in a drug program, and was working in the metal shop until they had a strike and he was charged with mutiny and inciting a riot: "since that time I have not been allowed back to the slave shop. I'm also with a group called big brothers. We have rap sessions with so-called trouble youth..." Walpole is geared to drive people insane and he sees people removed to Bridgewater regularly: "everyday I see signs of someone else slipping off. At times I feel myself slipping... you could say this is a lunatic criminal factory."
