Photograph caption dated June 17, 1961 reads, "Larry Cartwright, 5144 Cartwright Ave., and Renie Alleyn, 4849 Sancola Ave., both North Hollywood, and Howard Ray, 241 S. Sparks St., Burbank, dab on blackface makeup as they prepare a command performance of their minstrel show at the Church of Religious Science. Burbank Church spokesmen said popular demand require the return showing, which goes on stage at 8 p.m. Proceeds will send youth group members to a summer conference."
