@ Boston Public Library

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Samuel May, Jr. writes William Lloyd Garrison reporting that the papers are "making various comments on your inability to go to Chicago", and expresses his hopes that this is not due to a new bout of ill health on Garrison's part. May opines that Chicago was a poor choice of location for the meeting to be held. May informs Garrison that he has heard from Alfred Webb, and reports that they are doing well. May encloses for Garrison's consideration an article from Webb concerning the state of "tyrannous overseer-ship" imposed upon the Irish Press.
