Council on Social Work Education

Description

This folder contains materials created/collected by what is now the Council on Social Work Education. The materials in this folder may have been created/collected by one of two predecessor organizations: the American Association of Schools of Social Work and the National Association of Schools of Social Administration. Formed in 1952, the Council on Social Work Education formulates criteria and standards for all levels of social work education, accredits graduate schools of social work, provides service on curriculum development and teaching methodologies, publishes teaching materials, conducts research, and compiles data on social work education. This folder specifically contains materials related to educating social workers on work with racially and ethnically diverse communities, particularly with African Americans, as well as materials related to the recruitment and retaining of African American social workers.
