Description
Photograph taken looking east at the south side of the 200 block West Biddle Street in Baltimore, Maryland. Taken from number 255 West Biddle, this picture documents these two- and three-story brick row houses before demolition to make way for the extension of Howard Street. Cars are parked along the street. A truck has just passed (left) near where an African American man dressed in a military uniform stands. The soldier appears to be talking with a Caucasian woman sitting on steps behind the nearest car. In the center of the block are a lone tree and a single planter made from a half whiskey barrel. Tracks are embedded in the roadway, and electric lines for streetcars are suspended above the center of the street. For a more complete view of this block, see mdaa167 and mdaa233.
