Holograph, signed.William P. Griffin sends his condolences to Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman on the loss of her husband, Henry Grafton Chapman. William P. Griffin tells of the losses incurred by individuals in Haiti and refers to "the Tyrant Bozer." Meetings of the anti-slavery society were prohibited. The army is expected in fourteen days to complete the formation of a new government.
