Description

This report analyzes figures made public by the US Census Bureau. The Census Bureau's definition of "poverty" and the definition of "children" are given in the report. Data is presented by state for 1979 and 1989 including percentage change in rank. City poverty data for African American and Latino youth is also included in the report as well as the top 20 cities with the highest child poverty rates in 1989.
