View

Description

At the beginning of this interview, Karen Taylor presents the "History Harvest" model for the Sheff 25th anniversary. Dennis Parker, one of the Sheff plaintiff attorneys, agreed to do an oral history interview for demonstration purposes. He originally became involved in the Sheff case in 1989 through his role at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. in New York City, and had been contacted by activists in Connecticut. He describes how the state-level Sheff case provided an opportunity to navigate around national-level obstacles to school desegregation law.
