A self-taught African American painter from Westchester , Pennsylvania, Horace Pippin discusses subject matters in his paintings with Dr. Albert C. Barnes (1872-1951), founder of the Barnes Collection. In the background, a prize-winning Pippin painting is exhibited at a Pyramid Club Art Exhibition. The focal point of Pippin's artwork ranged from an attention towards warfare to religious symbology. Horace Pippin also served in the all-black 369th Infantry regiment in France during World War I. Among his well-known works are “Mr. Prejudice” (1943), “The Domino Players” (1944), and “Christmas Morning, Breakfast” (1945).
