Description
The policy of the Mormon Church on slavery. If a man joins the church with slaves, it is up to him to free or sell them if they wish to leave him. The church does not assume responsibility to direct members what to do with slaves, as the members do not wish to disobey the laws of the United States, which recognize slave ownership as legal. Utah does not have a slavery law. From the Frontier Guardian.
