Description

Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Gerrit Smith asks that William Lloyd Garrison print "six or eight" extra copies of the Liberator should he think that Smith's letter to Mr. Gurley warrants publication. Smith informs Garrison that he has additionally written to Oliver Johnson on the matter. Smith confides his fear that "our nation is lost".
