Holograph, signed.Title supplied by cataloger.May wants to know when Webb's son will arrive in Boston. He says that he has heard from his own son, Edward. May tells Webb of Stephen S. Foster's Disunion Voting Political Party. He mentions Parker Pillsbury, "one of the most morbidly sensitive persons [he] ever knew" and Pillsbury's resentment at Harriet Martineau's advice that he leave the American Anti-Slavery Society. May thinks that Maria Weston Chapman agrees with Miss Martineau. He discusses Dr. George Barrell Cheever's relation to the anti-slavery cause.
