Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript contains a letter with an envelope addressed to Miss Weston with annotations on the back that say "This spare copy of a recent letter from Ms. Bishop is only added to fill up & amuse you." This appears to be a partial copy of an original letter from Franics Bishop to Mary Anne Estlin, call number is MS A.1.2. v.24, p.121.Francis Bishop writes to Mary Anne Estlin regarding antislavery news in Boston, specifically the Boston Bazaar and the N.Y. Vigilance Conference. He writes that Barker's lectures were "very coarse & offensive...against the Bible. He appears to me to have deteriorated very much in manner & bearing if not in feeling." Bishop will leave for Edinburgh tomorrow.
