View of an unidentified man being detained by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation during an demonstration billed as the Brotherhood March in Forsyth County, Georgia.The Brotherhood March was organized by Charles Blackburn, Dean Carter, and Hosea Williams and held in January 1987 in Forsyth County to demonstrate racial progress in the area. The march was met with much resistance by the predominantly white residents. Two marches took place; one on January 17, during which a significant number of arrests were made. The second march took place on January 24, 1987 and was much larger, attracting thousands of supporters from across the country.
