Butcher, Charles

Description

Has looked over a possible detached service project in Cheltenham, Md., at a reform school of colored boys. 15-17 CPS men have chosen for the work, including Butcher. The project is interracial: "there is however, a great deal to be done on the racial question at the school, the colored staff do not eat in the same dining room with the white, and they don't sleep in the same quarters. There is complete equality of food and living quarters, but still segregation, which is bad.
