Phelps, in the top margin of the letter: ́Note, accompanying several articles presented me by ladies connected with the Anti-Slavery Fair.́"Ladies connected with the Anti-Slavery Fair" (according to Phelps's note in the margin) says they send a box of gifts as expression of gratitude for aid of the slaves
