Description
Pictured is Stella White (1907-1991), a journalist, writer, and public servant. She was a Plain Dealer columnist who wrote her first novel, Cry in September, in 1971. As a public servant, she was the first woman to serve on the Cleveland Transit Board. She was chairman of the Minority Affairs Committee of the American Public Transit Association, and also served as a trustee Women's General Hospital and the Western Reserve Historical Society.
