Holograph, signed.Title supplied by cataloger.May's writing on the envelope reads, "Rec'd Feb. 23. Ans'd [Feb.] 25, 1847."Estlin begins with a complaint that he was unable to secure a package sent by May due to excessive mailing charges. He sends money for another subscription to "The Liberator" and tells May that William Lloyd Garrison failed to make an impression on that class of English society which would have been most helpful to his cause. He says that Henry Clarke Wright advised Frederick Douglass to have nothing to do with the manumission papers.
