Holograph, signed.Title devised by cataloger.Manuscript includes an attached newspaper column clipping of a letter to the editor by T. Beaven Clark concerning racial prejudice and segregation among "Lodges of Good Templars" in the Southern United StatesF. J. Thompson thanks William Lloyd Garrison for his letter concerning the "split in the Good Templar Order". Thompson states that there exists in England sympathizers to the Americans who, with their "unchristian prejudice against the Negro race", refuse to admit African Americans as members of the Good Templar Order. Thompson encloses to Garrison a newspaper column by T. Beaven Clark on the matter.
