Description

Holograph, signed.Title supplied by cataloger.May informs Webb that he has been in poor health. May regrets the discontinuance of the anti-slavery fair and tells Webb that Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman has been laid up with rheumatism and has therefore been unable to work on her plan, which calls for a great meeting with speeches and refreshments. He tells of the defeat of many pro-slavery candidates in the recent Congressional elections and reports that Samuel Joseph May is in Europe.
